On May 29, 2025, Venture Forum 2025 was formally convened in Hanoi, co-hosted by VinVentures and the National Innovation Center (NIC). Under the theme “Redefining Capital,” the forum brought together an esteemed group of 200 leaders representing government agencies, financial institutions, venture funds, startups, and corporate partners.

Under the theme “Redefining Capital,” the forum brought together an esteemed group of 200 leaders representing government agencies, financial institutions, venture funds, startups, and corporate partners.
🔹 Session 1 – “When Banks Think Like VCs”, moderated by Mr. Hai Nam Bui, CEO, SoBanHang, explored how financial institutions are evolving from traditional lenders to more strategic innovation partners. Insights were shared by Mr. Fred Lim, Vice Chairman, Tnex; Mr. Daisuke Suzuki, MD and Deputy Head of Hanoi Branch, MUFG Bank; and Mr. Loic Faussier, Co-Founder and MD, VNInvest Partners, highlighting the potential of venture arms, policy alignment, and tech-driven engagement models.
🔹 Session 2 – “Rethinking Venture Debt in Southeast Asia”, moderated by Ms. Ngoc Nguyen, Deputy Editor, DealStreetAsia Vietnam, examined how venture debt can serve as a structured and complementary financing instrument. Dr. Jeremy Loh PhD, Co-Founder and Managing Partner, Genesis Alternative Ventures; Mr. Chin Chao, Partner (Growth Credit Fund), January Capital; and Mr. Ben Cheah, Partner, InnoVen Capital underscored the importance of sound financial governance, credit readiness, and long-term planning in enabling startups to effectively leverage venture debt.
🔹 Session 3 – “Fintech’s Role in Expanding Access to Capital”, moderated by Mr. Nam Doan, Principal, ThinkZone Ventures, featured distinguished fintech founders: Mr. James Vuong, CEO, Infina; Mr. Quan Nguyen, CEO & Co-Founder, Gimo; and Mr. Cuong Anh Nguyen, CFA, CEO & Co-Founder, Fundiin. The session illuminated how technology, trust, and user-centric design can unlock inclusive financial solutions for underserved communities.
